NOW ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR SUMMER EMPLOYMENT


Paradise Minor Baseball is now accepting applications for various staff positions for the 2024 Season.  This year we have defined a number of different roles within the organization.  Qualified individuals may be hired for one or more positions and we are asking applicants to select all of the positions that they are interested in when applying. You are able to select more than one position in the application form and we encourage you to select each position that you have an interest in. 

A description for each of the various roles is provided below.

Staff Coordinator

To assist with the coordination, planning, and delivery of the Summer Baseball Program . This includes supervision of baseball instructors, teaching baseball skills to youth, and coordination of tournaments and special events.

Qualifications:
  • Clear Certificate of Conduct / Vulnerable Sector Check
  • Valid Standard First Aid Certificate
  • Class 5 driver’s licence with access to a vehicle
  • Experience in developing and implementing seasonal plans and  baseball practice plans including developing learning progressions for skill development
  • Experience instructing baseball to youth ages 4 to 18 years of age would be an asset
  • Excellent organizational and written and oral communication skills
  • Successful completion of any Baseball Canada NCCP coaching clinics would be an asset.
  • Successful completion of level I, II, or III Umpire Clinics would be an asset
  • Familiarity with Baseball Canada Rally Cap or completion of Baseball Canada NCCP Rally Cap Coach clinic would be an asset.

Period of employment: June 21 – September 1
Rate of Pay: $16.10/hour (flex time will be required)


PARADISE PARK (MONDAY-THURSDAY EVENINGS)

 

Daily delivery of the Summer Baseball Programs offered by Paradise Minor Baseball teaching baseball skills to youth in RallyCap and 9U, ages range from 4 to 9 years old. 

Qualifications:
  • Clear Certificate of Conduct / Vulnerable Sector Check
  • Valid Standard First Aid Certificate
  • Experience instructing baseball to both children and adults would be an asset
  • Experience working in customer service setting would be an asset.
  • Excellent communication skills

Period of employment: June 21 – September 1
Rate of Pay: $15.60/hour  (flex time will be required)


UMPIRE (EVENINGS, WEEKENDS, TOURNAMENTS)

 

Daily delivery of the Summer Baseball Programs offered by Paradise Minor Baseball teaching baseball skills to youth in our senior program, age ranges from 10 to  18 years old. 

Qualifications:
  • Clear Certificate of Conduct / Vulnerable Sector Check
  • Valid Standard First Aid Certificate
  • Experience instructing baseball to both children and adults would be an asset
  • Umpire Level 1 (training provided by BNL and paid by PMB)
  • Experience working in customer service setting would be an asset.
  • Excellent communication skills

Period of employment: June 21 – September 1
Rate of Pay: $15.60/hour  (flex time will be required)


DAY PROGRAM (MONDAY-FRIDAY DAYTIME HOURS)

 

Daily delivery of the Summer Baseball Programs offered by Paradise Minor Baseball teaching baseball skills to youth in our summer day programs.  

Qualifications:
  • Clear Certificate of Conduct / Vulnerable Sector Check
  • Valid Standard First Aid Certificate
  • Experience instructing baseball to both children and adults would be an asset
  • Experience developing and implementing lesson plans including progressions for skill development
  • Experience working in customer service setting would be an asset.
  • Excellent communication skills

Period of employment: June 21 – September 1
Rate of Pay: $15.60/hour  (flex time will be required)


SCORE KEEPER (EVENINGS, WEEKENDS, TOURNAMENTS)

 

Responsible for scorekeeping at tournaments or special events via a manual scorebook or electronically on a tablet.  Announcing players and score during the game.  Assisting the umpires and other staff during games.  Scorekeepers help ensure games are kept on schedule. 

Qualifications:
  • Clear Certificate of Conduct / Vulnerable Sector Check
  • Valid Standard First Aid Certificate
  • Experience with manual baseball scorekeeping would be an asset
  • Experience using iScore or GameChanger would be an asset
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Attention to detail

Period of employment: June 21 – September 1
